Your shift does not happen standing still. You bend, reach, sit, walk, and do it all again. Your scrubs should give you room to move, not make every movement a negotiation.
That is why stretch matters so much to us at MediChic. Our 93% polyester, 7% spandex fabric has plenty of stretch, bringing welcome flexibility to the moments when your day asks you to move.
Why stretch makes a difference
A scrub top can look great when you are standing in front of a mirror. The real test comes when you reach forward or lift your arms. The same goes for pants: sitting down or bending at the knees tells you more than a standing pose ever will.
Stretch gives fabric room to yield with those movements. Instead of choosing scrubs only for how they look at rest, look for a fit that lets you move comfortably through the positions your work actually involves.
What is in our 93/7 blend?
Our fabric combines 93% polyester with 7% spandex. Polyester makes up the foundation of the blend, while spandex adds elasticity. That stretchy component is what helps the fabric give as you move.
We love this blend because flexibility belongs in everyday workwear, not just workout clothes. When you spend so much of your day on the move, a little give can be a very welcome thing.
Stretch is not a substitute for the right size
Even stretchy scrubs should fit comfortably before you start moving. You should not need to rely on the fabric stretching just to fasten your pants or bring your arms forward.
Try a quick movement check: sit down, bend your knees, reach forward, and raise your arms. Notice whether the shoulders, hips, thighs, or waistband feel restrictive. If seams pull or the waistband digs in, compare another size or cut rather than expecting stretch to do all the work.
Think about the whole shift
Consider how you wear your scrubs, too. An underscrub layer, a tucked-in top, or loaded pockets can change how an outfit feels. Try on your scrubs the way you plan to wear them, and choose the combination of fit and flexibility that feels right for your day.
Fabric composition is a useful starting point, but it does not tell you everything. The weave or knit and the garment's construction also affect how it stretches. Check each style's fabric details rather than assuming every scrub has the same blend or stretch characteristics, and follow its care label.
